The Rebound
What starts as a fake-married favor for Nonna’s 99th turns into a blizzard of banter, unresolved heat, and “definitely not happening again” moments behind closed doors.
Carson Alfredsen is trying to get on with his life after the tragedy that took his son and ended his marriage. If one more person asks him how he’s doing, he’s gonna punch something. He’s focused on solving problems, staying in control, and overcoming grief and emotions quickly. When he meets an attractive woman in bar who seems interested, why not climb back into the dating saddle? Then his ex-wife asks him for an unhinged favor.
Ayla’s great grandmother is turning 99 and her huge family is throwing a big party for her. Well, Ayla’s doing all the work. But it’s going to be fun. The only problem is Nonna doesn’t know that she and Carson are getting a divorce. Ayla hated to tell her that she failed yet again—at a career, at being a mother, at being a wife. Ayla’s cousin comes up with a genius idea—ask Carson to come to the party and pretend they’re still married. He loves Nonna Gia, too, so why wouldn’t he?
Maybe because he has a new girlfriend. At first Carson says no and insists Ayla needs to tell her family the truth. But then he gives in and agrees to go because he sees how much Ayla has taken on organizing this party and she could use some help. So they’re staying together in a snowy cabin in the Catskills pretending to be married.
