Today I thought I’d share some information about Kobo for those of you who may not be familiar with it. This is where I buy all my books and I really like shopping there. Their search engine may not be quite as good as Amazon, but their recommendations are usually spot on for me.
If you read on your phone or a tablet, you can download their free app. I have it on my phone and my tablet, and I also read on my old Sony reader. It’s a little more work to sideload books onto my reader, but I prefer it for reading outdoors in the bright sun, so it comes to the beach and the pool with me and out on my deck. They also have ereaders which I can’t speak to from personal experience but I’ve heard great things about the Kobo Glo, and the Kobo Aura H20 is waterproof!
If you use the app or a Kobo reader, it synchronizes between devices so you can start reading on your tablet and then pick up where you left off on your pone when you’re stuck waiting at the doctor’s office.:-) It’s very user friendly. The apps are available for Android, Apple, BlackBerry 10, Kobo desktop for Windows or Mac, and Windows 8. And buying and downloading books is as easy as one click once your account is set up (okay two clicks).
Another Kobo feature is their super points, a loyalty reward program that rewards you for reading. If you’re an avid reader like I am, this is a great feature. And for $10 you can upgrade to VIP status and get discounts and more points.https://store.kobobooks.com/en-us/kobosuperpoints/member
As an author, Kobo is a smaller retailer for me, but it’s growing steadily. I’ve found the people at Kobo responsive and easy to deal with. I hope you’ll check out Kobo’s apps and books!
I'm so excited for the release of Bayard Hockey book 1! Shut Out if my first new adult romance. Yes there's hockey. Yes there's sizzling heat. Yes there's a tender romance. There are also some serious themes along with some humor. I know this story is different from what I usually write and may not be for everyone, but the response has been so positive and I'm very grateful.
